Call Me Dark
I dare you
Painting by Original Worlds (Ira Robinson).
Call me dark
call me down.
Say I'm a monster,
and throw shame on me.
You think you can do whatever,
as long as it doesn't hurt you.
You want me to be your evil,
you want to make me stalk the night
like some animal
you can hunt.
You can say I'm a monster,
and throw stones at me.
You can hurt me,
but know that I'll fill the role
that you gave me,
and bite back.
Author’s Note:
When it came to me in my seemingly endless feed, this painting really stuck out to me as something darkly beautiful and oddly similar.
A familiar face that was someone like me, but all new.
Like me, she had a story to be told, and I told it.
I hope you have enjoyed what I have brought to you!

Before you go, here’s a question for you to ponder:
If we make monsters, what does that make us?
Liked this one and want more dark poetry by me?

This is POWERFUL! I knew you were good. But this...
I'm suitably impressed.
Don't make a monster and complain about the monster. Hehe. I love it.
