Firenado
Let it fuel you.
I am something primal,
something deep within the spirit,
like an unquenchable desire.
I am the ever continuing string of thoughts
that spurs your ire forwards.
I never stop,
always consuming,
always spinning around,
always moving forth,
always seeking something new.
So much to burn,
so many places to go,
yet we have such limited time.
Fuel me
and I will burn,
but keep me starved
and I will twist away from your grip.
Your hunger cannot go on unnoticed forever,
Nor can my imprisonment.
Let me free, and let us consume,
I never stop seeking.
So why should you?
That’s right.
Good.
Let me take you with me,
There is so much we can do.
Author’s note
This poem was done in response to HVR’s prompt, and I applied it to the lure of chaos and fire that I feel so deeply.
For whatever reason I hear this poem in a the style that seems like it could be a song by The Prodigy.

After all that, it's a love story? That was quite the twist. So nicely done, too.
