I've never compared my life to the sparkler's life but they are similar. I do light up at night. Haha. And the poem is so true. We really are not here that long. We come along and light up and then we are gone. Brilliant stuff, Eliseo.

I really enjoyed how you turned such an ordinary moment into a reflection on the limits and intensity of being alive. The image of the sparkler, burning with “defiant fury” while still bound by forces beyond its control, felt like a powerful metaphor for the human experience. The closing comparison stayed with me long after I finished reading. A thoughtful and quietly resonant piece.
